I Only Shop at Dollar Stores – Here’s Why

Why should you shop at Dollar Stores? Hint: It is not about money!

You’re not crazy if it feels like you drive by a dollar store every few blocks. There are more than 37,000 dollar shops in the United States. They do business as Dollar General, Dollar Tree, and Family Dollar, among others. To put that figure into context, Walmart now operates 4,717 locations across the United States.

But I don’t want to bore you with statistics and other useless information. There are a ton of other stores available in the U.S., that seem better than Dollar stores, and people usually need more reasons to trust a certain thing besides reading gibberish online. Guess what? That’s why I am here. In today’s article, I will share a little stuff about why you should shop at Dollar Stores besides the obvious.

For small families, dollar shops are a great option

Is your household made up of two or three people? Shopping at Dollar Store might be a fantastic idea, especially if you want to cut costs while still making sure your pantry is stocked. Many items are packed specifically to fit into smaller spaces, which is why you can also buy the exact amount you plan on using.

Their products change all the time

Having a plethora of items to choose from is ideal, especially when it comes to stuff that you’re using in the household daily. This is one of the reasons why I shop at Dollar stores. They know that their products will sell fast, and because they buy most of the stuff in bulk at that price, chances are that 90% of them are going to be sold out in a week.

If there is a lot of demand for, say, cleaning supplies, there’s a good possibility they’ll refill and introduce even more options shortly. Since I don’t like to pay a lot for items to help me clean the house, and I also try to make stuff with natural ingredients, the fact that they change their products all the time is awesome. I can try products to see if they’re good without being sorry I paid more than they were worth it.

Their private label and store brands are good

Although once in a while I want to stuff my face in a bowl full of Nesquick cereals, I am not always on board for name-brand items. If you’re the same, then you have to shop at Dollar stores. Store branding is a notion that Dollar General has developed into its own side business. The store’s website has a wide range of DG Brands products, from Clover Valley food items to Good & Smart nutritious snacks, in addition to other private-label brands for non-food items.

Taste their whole natural almonds, baked snack crackers, creamy peanut butter, and mildly salted potato chips. I tried all of them, and I think it’s an excellent option considering the price and quality. I’d say even better than what you find at Walmart!

Need canned goods asap? Then go and shop at Dollar stores. Since they have many products with a short shelf life, it’s advisable to consume them within a week. So if you’re having a party or a bigger dinner with some friends and family members and you need to stock up on cheaper stuff, check out Dollar Store’s offer.

Cheap doesn’t necessarily mean terrible at Dollar stores

Yeah, yeah, many folks say that cheap isn’t good. Well, in some cases it’s true, but among gibberish, there are a couple of items that are definitely worth a try. Together with the snacks I mentioned above, Campbell’s chicken noodle soup is very tasty no matter where you buy it. You can even create a whole week’s worth of meals using items from a dollar shop and not feel like you’re always reaching for snacks to keep yourself full.

I once paid about forty dollars for a week’s worth of meals when my kids were out of town, and I can honestly tell that every time I ate, I felt satisfied and full, and my budget was pleased too.

Without a sturdy bag to carry them, all those journeys you make to the Dollar stores for shopping won’t be complete, will they? Why not take a look at this set of heavy-duty multipurpose bags, which are priced at $18.9 on Amazon? Although they are a little pricey, you will benefit from their assistance for a considerable amount of time till they break because they are reusable.

Shopping at Dollar stores is fun

If you use social media frequently and have a favorite dollar store, check to see if there is a particular page where people share tips. For instance, on Facebook, you may join a group or groups to see what other people are saying about a certain deal at dollar stores. Keeping an eye on their official website will help you remain up to date on any updates related to their chain of stores.

Every time I visit a Dollar Store, I find something interesting or brand new on the shelf. I go there a few times a month. With so many admirers and positive feedback, it’s hard to go through their assortment and not discover what you need.

Seasonal items are a great purchase

Dollar stores are awesome, even if not everything they have on sale is worth it. Besides batteries or cheap makeup products, which even if I am a fan of these stores I don’t recommend buying, they have a ton of seasonal stuff that is a true delight to look for.

During the spring season, they stock up on gardening stuff or yard decorations, which are way more affordable here than in other places. In August, they start bringing school supplies, which are a bargain, and even if they aren’t top-notch, your kids will probably break them in the first week, so it’s fine. With Halloween just around the corner, you will definitely find affordable costumes or decorations to improve the old ones but also to boost the look of your porch.

When winter holidays are near, it seems like Santa drops half of his bag at Dollar stores because almost every alley is filled with something cute and affordable to add to your cart.

They can be found in areas that larger retailers overlook

Not every community has equal access to retail products and services, which is a sad reality of the American economy. Putting many of its retail stores in low-income and/or rural regions that are not easily served by rivals like Walmart is one way Dollar General, in particular, has benefited from this.

Their goal since the early 2000s has been to avoid competition, especially Walmart, which gives each store a built-in customer base that removes the need for them to travel to the next town for shopping solely. This is one of the reasons I often shop at Dollar stores, and from my point of view, for me and my family, this is the best decision.
